Remember to pay your municipal accounts this holiday season

12 November 2024

The City encourages residents to pay their municipal accounts this holiday season and to be reminded of the busier November and December months. To avoid waiting in longer queues in the coming weeks, residents may make use of the City’s easy to use online booking system to get ahead of the queues.

‘We urge residents to remember to pay their municipal accounts this holiday season, especially over the December and January months when most residents take their leave.

‘The holiday season is a time for rest and recuperation, but can also be a stressful time especially for our finances. We urge our customers to please set aside money for their municipal accounts as without this income, we cannot provide services. The income we get from rates and tariffs pays for service delivery. Qualifying residents may approach the City to see what assistance is available. Residents are encouraged to pay their municipal accounts this holiday season by using the convenient online payment options and the City’s e-Services. The online options can be used from the comfort of your home. A QR code is also included on municipal accounts so that municipal payments can be made easily and conveniently.

‘The City’s e-Services allows residents to view their municipal accounts, renew motor vehicle licences, enter water meter readings and apply for rates rebates among others, and we are encouraging more residents to sign up to use the convenient service,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Councillor Siseko Mbandezi.
